Knowing Your Numbers: Six
In my Knowing Your Numbers series, those who are new to numerology get to see how spiritual numbers work and manifest in our world; those who are familiar with numerology will get a nice refresher, with extras! In this post, we’ll be going over the number six.
If I had to come up with a catchphrase that summarizes how 6 energy tends to work, it’s this: “sixes bring fixes.”
6 energy is aligned with the hearth and familial structures. After 5 has gone and shaken things up or brought things out, 6 will draw back in what remains and see what needs repair. Also, if 5 energy is the impulse to wander and explore, 6 can be like a North Star that shows us how to come home, wherever home truly may be. This is why 6 energy can be associated with homecomings, family, and the concept of return. Having established that, if the “home” space is sick, imbalanced, or poisoned - whether it’s a family, physical dwelling, community, or values - 6 energy will herald a disturbance. This number can be just as associated with illness, frailty, and disease as it is with stability, healing, and recovery.
Yet despite the above, 6 has some surprising properties. It is one of several gateways into trance states, and can set the stage for the deep reflection that comes with 7 energy. It is also exceptional for hypnosis and magnetism, calling in rather than shoving out. But rather than use the dynamic hearts-a-flutter passion that comes with 5 energy, 6 draws us in steadily, patiently, and invitingly. It’s the energy that keeps folks “at home,” coming home, or missing home.
Conventional wisdom in the States around dating and relationships has it that you don’t truly know how a relationship will fare with someone until you’ve known them for at least 6 months; that the facade tends to wear off by then. More accurately, the energy of that relationship is likely to be revealed by the 5th; when the dust and lust settle during the 6th, a sober view of the relationship is more likely than at any earlier point during the getting-to-know each other phase. While not universal - personal numbers can shorten or lengthen any forecast otherwise - it can be anticipated.
Manifestations in Numerology
Life Path: Folks with an LP-6 may choose to incarnate in order to serve as more present guardians and healers of their family, or to help rebuild after particular damage has been dealt to a lineage. Like those who have an LP-4, people who have 6 as their Life Path Number are usually here to learn how to be in community with others, and are often tasked with creating or securing home spaces for others to grow and thrive in. This is occasionally the LP number of the soldier or the guardian king who marshals both internal and external resources to defend, protect, and enrich their homeland. How metaphorical that experience is depends on the context of the person’s birth. Like with LP 8, this LP will place people on the path of service, charity, and giving to others in order to find emotional balance and harmony.
Expression: Expression Number 6 ensures that its bearer is exceptionally resourceful. Often skilled naturally at persuasion and preservation, folks who have this as an Expression Number can achieve their destiny most effectively at home, or once they know where their home-base really is. They usually possess strong gifts for interpersonal relations and space management, knowing innately how to shift the energy of a space to make it more inviting, safe, and encouraging - not only for themselves, but for others, which will bring them great rewards.
Personality: Folks who have 6 as their Personality number may discover that others’ perception of them falls somewhere on the spectrum of nurturing figure or master manipulator. They may be quite good at putting up mask after mask, which can be alienating for others and make them feel unsafe. If they’re self-assured, however, they are received well as mature, warm, and kindhearted. Things to Take Advantage Of
Wealth generation, period. 6 folks can make a nest egg out of chicken scratch. If they don’t let insecurity lead them into hoarding territory, they can live in a state of near-perpetual abundance and plenty even when, by all accounts, they should be dead broke and without. Similarly, they are encouraged to relax because things come to them so naturally; they don’t have to work nearly as hard as others to get what they want. Also, because their home-space is vitally important, they are wise to build up and show out when it comes to nesting and creating said home-space: once that’s done, they can achieve literally anything they wish.
Finally, folks with 6 energy should take advantage of their ability to help others overcome obstacles, especially obstacles to union, and work to unify and pull people together. They often find some degree of emotional fulfillment through their relationships with other people, much like those with 2 energy, and therefore should allow themselves to give and gift to those with whom they share right affinity.
Things to Be Mindful Of
Petulance is one of the larger challenges to people with 6 energy. It is also the number of the miser, the penny-pincher who fears losses to the point of curdling their natural favor. In this way, 6 folks are good for a self-fulfilling prophesy. Where folks with 4 energy are more focused on controlling the process, folks whose 6 energy is in an adverse state will focus on controlling the people. It is okay to let folks come “home” or into one’s arms in their own timing, something that 6 folks may be repeatedly forced to learn, even to the point of having an empty house, bed, or office. To avoid things getting Like That, it is strongly recommended that folks with 6 energy learn to meet folks where they are, and do their internal work so that they can find fulfillment through provision without strings.
