Knowing Your Numbers: Eight
In my Knowing Your Numbers series, those who are new to numerology get to see how spiritual numbers work and manifest in our world; those who are familiar with numerology will get a nice refresher, with extras! In this post, we’ll be going over the number eight.
In Numerology, eight is yet another number with a powerful spiritual charge. It is associated with law on multiple dimensions, from human legalities to the law of returns, energetic debts (conventionally called karma - not what karma actually is in Hindu cosmology), and the infinite. What we invest or set to simmer in 7 comes to being under the auspices of an 8, which assures completion and synchronization. Eights also tend to break or revise contracts of all kinds, whether mundane or spiritual. When in an adverse expression, 8 energy constricts, tightens, and cuts off. It can foster a tendency to rest on one’s laurels and, because it represents achievement and accomplishment, 8 energy can generate high-handedness and micromanagement. There is also some degree of risk of being overly focused on results, appearances, and material things - the kinds of things that get torn away first when 9 energy blows through. Aggravated 8 energy produces power struggles, arrogance, and battles for dominance over many.

Life Path: One of the most challenging life paths, this is the LP of those who incarnate to learn how to enjoy the world without being distracted by what it offers them. They may have the capacity to command or direct resources well, but things dry up for them when they draw upon old paradigms of control and authority. Because of the way that their destinies are often structured, every loss can be rendered in service of said destiny. LP-8s must learn to wield their authority without lording it over others to successfully accomplish their destinies, or may find critical opportunities blocked. Because 8 is also associated with energetic debts, those who have it as an LP may find themselves repeatedly breaking or forging new spiritual contracts.
Expression: Though regularly associated with wisdom and willpower, 8 as an Expression Number can also facilitate a Midas Touch with regard to financial wealth and business acumen. Things to Be Mindful Of
There’s no getting around it: 8 energy is not the energy to play dirty in. Just as others may be thoroughly dealt with for mistreating a person with 8 energy, they also really need to walk in good character as often as possible - in order to avoid that same energy applying itself to them. People with 8 energy must be especially mindful that they do not fall into excessive materialism, putting on airs (those airs will be ripped right off), and manipulation. Also, they must release the unrealistic expectations that fuel their anger, as outbursts can shatter all that they have built. People who bear 8 energy, especially as an LP, tend to have a great number of hidden enemies or a track record of sudden losses that shatter past gains. If they can successfully reconnect with Spirit after such losses, which may have otherwise dealt damage to their faith, they will recover.
